About 5 years ago, Yggdrasil released the first slot in this series, and fast forward to 2021, they have a sequel in the name Golden Fish Tank 2 Gigablox.
The new release uses a lot of newer and modern techniques that I’m going to cover in this review:
Golden Fish Tank 2 Gigablox uses a 6 reels design with between 25 to 40 lines, that are determined by the number of available rows.
The features on it include regular wilds, free spins with modifiers, scatter symbols, and Gigablox icons capable of taking up the entire game area.
I was able to place real money wagers for the whole game area, without necessarily picking only some of its lines. With just $0.25, I was excited to spin the reels of this slot, and you can do so with up to $100. There is an extra Golden Bet available, betting with an extra 20%.
Golden Fish Tank 2 Gigablox has a fair payout potential, but you must also know that the slot is highly volatile. Up to 5,000xs the stake ($500,000) is possible from a single spin.
RTP is very fair and at 96%, Yggdrasil has maintained the same level that we have seen with many other reputable developers.
From the title, it’s obvious that the slot relies on the Gigablox system, and this can only mean one thing: there are plenty of mega symbols on the reels.
These symbols have a size of between 2x2 and 4x4, and they can cover the 6x6 reels during free spins. These massive symbols serve as multiple symbols of that type, depending on how many positions are occupied by them. I landed both the regular and feature symbols in the Giga form.
Wild symbols are almost always present on most modern slots. As usual, you can use them to form combinations of their own, or even as substitutes for other regular icons.
Each time I landed the Treasure Chest icon on the 5th reel, I was automatically allowed access to 5-16 free spins. In some instances, you can get up to 500x the stake. If this happens during the free spins mode, you get an extra 5 rounds.
I also got to trigger the free spins using the usual scatters, and I had to land them at least 5 times at the same time. For each triggering scatter, I got 1 free spin that also comes with one of the available modifiers.
Although this is a sequel of a game that was first released over 5 years ago, Yggdrasil has managed to modernise it with lots of good features and symbols.
Among these symbols are 3 feature triggers (scatter, wild, Treasure Chest), 4 varieties of fish (icons) and four cards (serve as low-value icons).
Golden Fish Tank 2 Gigablox is a very decent sequel to Yggdrasil’s original release. However, the developer should have considered a more reasonable top jackpot, to merge well with the exciting Gigablox mechanic.
